Privacy Policy
Last updated August 13, 2026
This policy explains what AttachmentStyle.com (“we,” “us”) stores about you, what never leaves your own device, and who else is involved. We have tried to write it so you can actually tell what happens, rather than so it covers us.
The short version
- You can take the quiz and read your result without an account and without a card.
- If you subscribe, we store your email address, your result, and your progress, so the product works on your other devices.
- The name and attachment style you enter for your partner are stored only on your device. We never receive them. There is no place in our database they could go.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
What stays on your device
Before you subscribe, everything is local. Your result, your progress, your saved cards and your check-ins live in your browser’s storage on the device you used, and no account exists.
Your partner’s details stay local even after you subscribe. If you tell the product who your person is and how they do closeness, that stays in your browser. It is not uploaded, not synced to your other devices, and not backed up by us. There is no field for it in our database and nothing in our sync protocol that can carry it. That is deliberate: the person you are describing did not agree to any of this, and the honest way to build a feature about someone else is to keep it where only you can see it.
The practical trade is that clearing your browser data, or switching to a new device, means entering them again. We think that is the right way round.
What we collect
- Quiz answers. Your answers are scored in your browser. We do not store the answer sheet itself, on any account. What can end up stored is the result it produces, which is one of four style names.
- Account details. If you subscribe, we store the email address you paid with, and an identifier linking you to your subscription. There is no password to store, because there is no password.
- Your progress. Which sessions you have finished, which steps of the path you have done, what you have saved in your pocket, your check-ins, and where you paused a track. This is what makes the product work on a second device. Your result is stored with it, and at that point it is connected to your email address, so we no longer claim it is anonymous.
- Payment details. Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We can see the last four digits, the outcome of a charge, and your billing email.
- Usage data. Which pages and screens were opened, and roughly what kind of device it was, so we can tell where the product is confusing.
Why we collect it
- To show you your result and the version of each session written for it.
- To keep your progress when you come back, or open the product somewhere else.
- To take payment, send receipts, and tell you about your subscription.
- To see which parts of the product help and which parts nobody finishes.
- To answer you when you email us.
We do not use what you do inside the product to target advertising, and we do not build profiles for anyone else.
Who else is involved
We share the minimum with the companies that run parts of this for us. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job.
- Stripe takes payments and runs the billing page. It receives your name, email and card details directly from you.
- Supabase hosts the database that holds your account and your progress, and sends the one-time sign-in links.
- Vercel hosts and serves the site, and processes the ordinary request information any web host does, including IP addresses.
- PostHog handles product analytics, where we use it.
- Loops sends email, if you have given us your address for that.
None of them receives your partner’s details, because we do not have them. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we only hand anything to anybody else when the law requires it.
Cookies
If you are signed in, we set a cookie that keeps you signed in. That one is essential: the product cannot know it is you without it. We also use browser storage on your own device for your progress, which is not a cookie and is not sent to us except through the sync described above.
Analytics may set its own cookies. You can block cookies in your browser settings, and the free parts of the site will still work, though staying signed in will not.
How long we keep it
Account and progress data is kept while your account exists, and for a short period after you cancel, so that resubscribing picks up where you left off rather than starting from nothing. Ask us to delete it and we will, apart from the billing records we are required to keep for tax and accounting.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to some processing or to take your data elsewhere. We will not treat you differently for asking.
Email attachmentstyle@fastmail.com from the address on your account and we will handle it within 30 days.
Security
Your data is separated per account at the database level, so one account cannot read another’s rows even if something else goes wrong. Traffic is encrypted. No system is perfect, and if anything ever affects your data we will tell you rather than wait to be asked.
Children
This site is for adults and is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will remove it.
Where your data is
We are based in the United States and our providers store data there. If you use the site from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and if a change materially affects what we collect from subscribers we will email you. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated policy.
